Science at Flamborough School equips children with skills and knowledge to be able to flourish in life.
Teachers enable the acquisition of knowledge and understanding of the world in which we live and teach scientific enquiry skills that facilities children to be enquiry based learners.
Science is given a high priority in school with high expectations of the use of retrievable information, scientific vocabulary and presentation. We like to link lessons to real llife in order to inspire our learners and place emphasis on a ‘hands on’ approach to stimulate and enthuse our pupils’ curiousity about life.
Our curriculum is planned so that pupils build on learnt knowledge and skills with regular opportunities to apply these in a variety of ways. We also encourage the asking of questions and explore ways in which they might find the answers.
We work closely within the Science cluster which includes effective communication with the secondary schools.
